GG Echo is reader-supported. This page explains every way the site earns money, in plain terms, so you can weigh what you read here accordingly. It exists to meet the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s endorsement guidelines, and because you are entitled to know.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy something or open an account, we may receive a commission from the merchant. You never pay more because of it — the price is the same as it would be going direct.
Every affiliate link on this site:
- is marked with
rel="sponsored nofollow", as Google requires; - appears inside a clearly bordered card labelled Partner offer, never disguised as editorial text;
- is preceded on the page by a disclosure line, placed above the link rather than buried in the footer;
- routes through
/go/…so we can count clicks. See “What we track” below.
Sponsored placements
Some cards are labelled Sponsored rather than Partner offer. Those are
paid placements bought by a brand for a fixed period. They are always labelled,
always visually separated from editorial content, and always carry
rel="sponsored nofollow".
An article that is itself sponsored carries a Sponsored badge directly above
its headline, and every outbound link in it is marked rel="sponsored nofollow".
Rates and available slots are on the Advertise page.
What money does not buy
Advertisers and affiliate partners do not get to see, approve, review, or influence editorial coverage before it publishes. Paying for a slot buys the slot. It does not buy coverage, a favourable mention, or the removal of an unfavourable one.
What we track
When you click a /go/… link we record the offer id, a timestamp, the page you
clicked from, and the country your request came from. We do not record your IP
address, we do not set a tracking cookie, and we do not build a profile of you.
The merchant you land on may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
Newsletter
Our email list is self-hosted. We store your address, your subscription status, which form you signed up from, and the timestamps. Nothing else. Signup is double opt-in and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Display advertising
GG Echo does not currently run display ad networks. If that ever changes, this page will be updated before any ad unit goes live.
